T’es Rien Terrien is a folk track from Swiss artist Aslane. The title plays on words, “You are nothing” and “earthling” sounding almost identical in French. The song is written from the perspective of an ancient tree observing the rise and fall of humanity. 

Inspired by both the song’s theme and the album title (Ashes and Gold), we created a stop-motion music video animated entirely with real ash. It was a wildly ambitious undertaking. It was technically demanding, tactile, and beautifully messy but the result felt deeply connected to the spirit of the music.

This was a true passion project, produced on a tiny budget over an extended period, as our team chipped away at it between commercial work, building dual stop-motion rigs and animating frame by frame, together. 

A labour of love, and one we remain incredibly proud of.
