PROJECT TYPE:

Docuseries

YEAR:

2021

In 2021, An Tobar Nua approached us to create a full educational docuseries - a six-part classroom resource designed to spark meaningful discussion among students. The result was SAOL, a cinematic blend of live action and animation exploring six universal themes: Purpose, Peace, Hope, Freedom, Happiness and Love.

Over a period of 16 months, we were entrusted with the project from the ground up: Script and concept development, storyboarding, production and post for both live action and animation, alongside research, location scouting, prop sourcing and more. It was an ambitious undertaking, made possible by an unusually strong creative partnership between our team, director George Griffin, and An Tobar Nua’s Ruth Burke who not only spearheaded the vision, but stepped in as both producer and on-screen presenter.

Sons of Graham creative producer Becka worked closely with Ruth at every stage, shaping ideas, elevating the storytelling, and constantly pushing the project to be braver and more emotionally honest.

We’re incredibly proud of this series. While it’s currently available only as a teaching resource across Ireland, we’re able to share this short highlights edit as a glimpse into the world of SAOL.
