As part of Episode 5 of An Dara SAOL, we created two fully animated retellings of well-known Bible stories: The Conversion of Saul to Paul and The Pearl of Great Price.

Each piece appears as a cutaway within the wider live-action episode, where the presenters, Ruth and Andrew, swap their favourite Bible stories in a tongue-in-cheek “one-upmanship” moment. Ruth’s retelling of Saul’s dramatic transformation is full of flair and exaggeration, while Andrew’s response (a parody movie trailer-style version of The Pearl of Great Price) leans into self-aware humour and cinematic drama.

We wrote both scripts, developed the visual style, and brought each story together through expressive character animation and dynamic storytelling. The result is two animated short films: ancient stories retold with a nice blend of comedy and epicness.
