PROJECT TYPE:
Historical Animation
YEAR:
2015
OMF International asked us to create an animation to commemorate their 150th anniversary, a celebration of a mission that began in 1865 when Hudson Taylor founded the China Inland Mission, and continues today across East Asia and among Asian communities around the world.
OMF had an extraordinary archive spanning over a century and a half: original books, photographs and printed materials dating back to their earliest days. We built the film’s visual language directly from that legacy, combining archival artefacts, modern photography, hand-drawn illustration and historical typography to create a rich collage-style animation that honours the past while staying present and alive.
It was a great piece to work on and is still being used by OMF today more than 10 years on. It's also been translated into 12+ global languages.
